For the first paper of the semester, I used two pieces of writing from Emerging: Contemporary Readings for Writers. These sort of articles that I used within this book were “My Son: The Prince of Fashion” written by Michael Chabon, and “Bad Feminist” written by Roxanne Gay. Although these sources were sort of thrust upon me for this assignment, I did not dislike working with them for the paper. I did, however, connect more to one authors writing than the other. Personally, I found Roxanne Gay and her writing more relatable to myself and my own ideas in regards to writing and subject matter.
