LEARNING OUTCOME ONE

All throughout high school, I was never taught the difference between local revision and global revision. I feel as tough this new knowledge has helped both my peer review of others papers, and my own revision process as well. The most drastic revision for me can be found in the first paper of the course. Personally, I believe that this was because of all of the new revision methods that I learned in class. In my future writings, I kept these techniques in mind when writing the first draft, so that there is not quite as much of a dramatic change from the draft to the final piece of writing. The biggest change that I made to this paper was the addition of my dear reader comment as its own sort of personal introductory paragraph to the introductory paragraph. As the rest of my essay was more of a formal style, I felt that the inclusion of this gave more insight as to why I wrote about the topic that I did in the first place. There were other changes as well, but I felt as though these were not as major in the long run. These edits include things like removing a certain sentence that I did not elaborate on enough, changing the diction or syntax of a specific area, and many more, like spelling errors. Below, I have attached the first draft of my paper, followed by the final draft, and finally a document that shows the changes that were made between the two.
